In 2011 I discovered the Yasminah’s Gift of Hope website. I was amazed and in awe of what this organisation was doing to help grieving families. The Gifts of Hope which are provided to families allow mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers to pen thoughts, dreams, handprints, pictures and drawings of their precious baby. These Gifts of Hope allow the heartbreak, sadness and beauty of their child to be recorded as a beautiful keepsake for the many years ahead. Six years ago after the loss of my William, I started writing, it was my lifeline. Apart from my husband and family, the journal is what got me though the most difficult time of my life. The pages within that journal are tear stained and is now one of the most cherished items I have. I am honoured to now be a volunteer of YGOH. To know that each journal that I lovingly cover is going to help a mother who is hurting just as much as I hurt, it is all totally worth it.
I know I have said thank you before but I wanted to pop back in. One month since Melinda died and I write in my journal most nights, it is my escape, my place of non-judgement and freedom. You are doing an amazing thing with these gifts. (I’ve since gone and purchased a journal for my husband) it has been such an essential tool in my arsenal for coping with my grief.
Today I received my gift of hope. I am so grateful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It’s exactly what I needed to help me on this painful journey x
to the amazing parents that gifted it on their child’s behalf thank you!
And to my amazing mum that requested it on my behalf thank you! X
I would like to thank everyone at YGOH; we have received the parcel that was sent to my daughter. She has opened this tonight and we have both had tears. From the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU. The blanket is beautiful and the journal will help heaps with the healing process. Xoxox
I just wanted to say a big thank you to Rachael for the lovely gift you sent to me for my sister … My friend Kylie Palmer organised it and just wanted to update you on my sister Tracey twins, Lily and Thomas.. They are doing very well and hopefully might get to leave hospital and go home in a week or so… I have added a pic of them for you to see… Again, thank you very much, the gift was lovely and made my sister just a little teary in a nice way
I lost my baby a few months ago 10 wks. into my pregnancy I was devastated and felt I had no one I could turn to who would understand. One day I got a package in the mail and it was a gift from you. It was the most thoughtful thing I had ever received. I have no idea where it came from or how you knew about my loss but I just want to say thank you.
Words cannot describe how grateful and sadden I am that there are people like you helping people and some friends of mine thru such a hard and sad time THANK YOU can never be enough
THANKYOU. I just received a beautiful gift from you. My friend Tina Porter contacted you. Thank you so much it means a lot to me xxx
Hello All, I would like to thank my beautiful friend Shannon Abblitt for organising the GORGEOUS gift bag from you all to give to my cousin who is really struggling at the moment….You all do a wonderful job, that really does make a difference, so THANK YOU
Hi Bec, I received my parcel today….. Beside my tears, I don’t know how to thank you, but I will try… Thank you for putting all you have inside the gift of hope bag, thank you for the roses, thank you for the teddy bears, thank you for the journal, thank you for the candle and lip balm, thank you for the tissues (they came in very handy) but I guess what I can’t thank you enough for is YOU validated my babies, besides me, you are the first person to write their names, thank you for validating their existence, I will never be able to thank you enough for that. For a mamma who has miscarried under the legal age limit, our babies mean nothing in the legal sense, we get no birth or death certificate, so to see their names written on paper, means more to me than I can ever put into words. Thank you to all of those at YGOH, you have all gave me a little piece of love, light, peace and a calmness to my heart. God bless you all from my family to yours xx
Hi Bec. I just wanted to let you know I received your package today. Thank you so much for your beautiful work and for all the love you put into each journal that you decorate. I know Daniel’s family will be so appreciative when they receive it. Much love & thanks xxxxo

And tragically our son passed away in his sleep almost 6 months ago, and the support pages have been so wonderful. It's so nice to know that you’re not alone and the support and suggestions from all the other mums is just amazing. Thank you so much ❤❤ [/av_testimonial_single] [av_testimonial_single src='2694' name='Haley Bracken' subtitle='' link='' linktext=''] I have had the privilege of passing on 2 Premie Gift of Hope packs to a friend and my cousin. It contains really useful information and great access to support services. It's something I wish I had when I gave birth to my son prematurely. I had never heard of this charity and began by reading the "About" section and was in tears before I finished! I spent a long time reading stories off the wall and decided that I wanted to be a part of this amazing team of volunteers! Even though I myself have never suffered as most volunteers have, or how those families we gift to have, I've increasingly become aware of others who have. Until I started discussing Yasminah's Gift of Hope and what they offer, I didn't even know that many years ago, my sister lost her sweet baby boy (I was young and she lived interstate at the time). This has affected me in a way I didn't know possible. It has only reassured me that in a small way, I am helping families through their pain and suffering by making journals for them to store their memories in. Since joining the team of loving volunteers, I seem to have become a magnet to parents who have lost a child and are in so much pain that I can only imagine. Each and every time I advise them to seek Yasminah's Gift of Hope so they can have a safe place to go and know that they will be surrounded by others who can relate and help them. As a mother myself, I put a mother's love into the journals I decorate, knowing it will help. I want to thank Yasminah's Gift of Hope (Rebecca Aziz) for our handmade journal, it's just beautiful!! You are an amazing person to help others!! Although the operation is not deemed as too serious it's enough to put her into the Intensive care ward. So I wanted something to be able to share with her later in life and this Journal has made the perfect book of memories for me! I am so very grateful for the time Bec took to make this for me and I and family are very grateful thanks SO VERY MUCH 🙂 [/av_testimonial_single] [av_testimonial_single src='2694' name='Felisha ' subtitle='' link='' linktext=''] I'm a mum of 3 loving boys and 2 Angels Skyetelle and Bella. Bec made me 2 wonderful and beautiful Journals in memory of my Angels. I'm so very thankful for Yasminah's Gift of Hope journals, I can write to my Angel babies, and have their memories to keep forever. He is now 7 weeks old and almost 34 weeks gestation. The weeks have been filled with pain, hope and amazement. The gift of a journal was one of the greatest gifts. I am able to curl up and write down my real feelings. I do keep an online diary, but in my journal I can share my deepest hopes, dreams and sorrows. It is something I can keep for many years to come and be able to share with Logan. Thank you so much for this beautiful gift - it is something that all mums should be able to enjoy.
